22-year-old arrested over hit-and-run

A man has been arrested following a hit-and-run in Renfrewshire.

Police were called at about 09:10 on Saturday following the incident on Lawn Street in Paisley.

A 74-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were taken to hospital for treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The 22-year-old male driver of the car which left the scene was traced by police a short time later and he was arrested in connection."

The spokesperson added that inquiries are ongoing.
