London’s transport map could look pretty different in a few years, with a number of new Tube, DLR and Overground stations in various stages and development.

Some of the proposed stations will be connected to new routes, while others are linked to rail connections that could unlock development in growing parts of the capital.

From the proposed Bakerloo line extension, to new DLR stations and the potential West London Orbital, here is a look at the new Tube, DLR and Overground stations currently planned across London.

Under TfL proposals, the Bakerloo line could be extended to - and then possibly extended further into Hayes.

The primary extension, which could also see 27 Bakerloo line trains run per hour, would include additional stations at , and .

A potential second phase of the extension could see the line stretch from Lewisham through Catford, Sydenham, Beckenham and Hayes.

The line’s ageing fleet would be replaced with modern trains under the proposals, significantly improving service quality.

A public consultation on the scheme has been scheduled by TfL for between December 2026 and February 2027.

Should it be approved, current estimates suggest the construction of the first expansion from Elephant and Castle to Lewisham will begin in the 2030s and be complete by 2040.

TfL is also working on a proposed extension of the Docklands Light Railway (DLR).

The plans would involve the addition of two new stations at and Thamesmead.

The proposed project, that TfL say could support up to 25,000 homes and 10,000 jobs, would require a new tunnel being built beneath the Thames.

The project, which is estimated to cost around £1.6 billion, could start construction in 2029, with the extension to open in the early 2030s.

Separately, a new station between Canning Town and Pontoon Dock has been proposed at , to serve the Thameside West development in the Royal Docks.

TfL completed feasibility work in 2026, and the project has entered the concept design stage.

TfL are currently running an eight-week consultation regarding a potential 18.5km West London Orbital, which would connect communities in north and northwest London.

The proposed new London Overground route would run between Hendon and Hounslow, and would improve access to major transport hubs as well as supporting new jobs and homes.

Plans include up to six trains per hour, while four new stations - , , , and - have been proposed, along with additional infrastructure at existing stations.

Access to London Underground, London Overground, National Rail, the Elizabeth line and HS2 would also be improved.

TfL believes that the scheme could remove around 650,000 car journeys a year across the capital, as well as supporting the delivery of around 25,000 homes, 11,500 jobs and up to £1.3 billion in wider economic benefits.

A funding package of up to £6.65m to support the next phase of design, modelling and public consultation work was agreed earlier this year, and a decision on whether to seek powers to build the scheme will be made in 2027.

TfL has said that construction could begin in the early 2030s, and the service could potentially start around 2035, subject to funding and approvals.
