A Greater Anglia train has derailed near Wickford in Essex, it has been reported.
It is not yet clear whether anyone was injured in the incident.
It comes after two people were seriously injured in a separate train derailment in Lewes yesterday.
Emergency services have been seen near the scene, with a local sharing an image of two air ambulances landing close to the tracks.
A footbridge across the rail line has been closed as crews work at the scene.
Passengers are facing major delays to their journey after the derailment, with National Rail confirming that trains will not be operating between London Liverpool Street and Southend Victoria until further notice.
Greater Anglia said: “If you have already started your journey, please speak to a member of staff or use a help point for assistance on completing your journey.
“We are gathering reports of reports of an incident between Southend Victoria and Wickford. We are currently awaiting further details and will provide updates as soon as possible.”
