Ariana Grande single crowned Spotify’s most streamed song of summer 2026

Ariana Grande’s single Hate That I Made You Love Me has been crowned Spotify’s most streamed song of summer.
The streaming service has unveiled its 2026 songs of the summer, with the US pop star coming out on top with the chart-topping track.
The track debuted at number one on the UK singles chart, and soared to the top of Spotify’s global chart where it remained for 22 days.

The 33-year-old secured 89 days in Spotify’s global top 10, and the streaming service credited the single for helping Grande cross the 100 million monthly listener milestone in August.
The announcement comes just days after Grande wrapped up her 10-night sold-out residency at the O2 in London, which was the last show of her world tour before stepping back from public life.
The Grammy-winning star, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role as Glinda in the big screen adaptation of Wicked, released the track in May and it features on her new album Petal.
Olivia Dean and Sam Fender’s chart-topping hit Rein Me In was also acknowledged by Spotify as one of the tracks that defined the sound of summer.
The song recently broke a record set in 1953 for the longest-running number one single and has earned 23 non-consecutive weeks at the peak, according to the Official Charts Company.

The track has been described as “an instant festival favourite” due to its “soaring vocals and communal energy”, and it peaked at 63 on Spotify’s global chart on August 7.
US singer-songwriter Ella Langley has also been praised for her “summer anthem” with Choosin’ Texas, which went viral on social media.
The country track spent 98 days on Spotify’s global top 50, with its biggest listening day on June 12, and the streaming service said it has spent 70 days at number one in the US this summer.
Dai Dai by Shakira and Burna Boy was also named one of Spotify’s songs of the summer due to its “infectious” and “unifying” nature.
The track spent 37 days at the number one spot on Spotify’s global charts, and was the most streamed music video on the platform.

It had its biggest streaming day of the season on July 20, and was credited for fuelling Shakira’s success on Spotify this summer, which resulted in more than 100 million monthly listeners in July.
Spend Dat by Yung Miami rounds off Spotify’s top five summer tracks, having been praised as an “inescapable hip-hop anthem, driven by an ultra-sticky hook and undeniable party energy”.
The track had more than a 200% increase in streams, and led to Yung Miami experiencing a surge in listeners – quadrupling from 1.6 million in May to 6.3 million in August.
The 2026 songs of the summer list has been curated by the Spotify editorial team and is based on streaming data, cultural impact, and editorial insight.
