Ariana Grande has revealed she cannot wear high heels at her London shows after suffering a “minor injury”.

The 33-year-old American singer will perform the final two shows of her Eternal Sunshine tour at the O2 Arena on Monday and Tuesday nights.

However ahead of her penultimate concert, Grande said she had to wear “cozy footwear” after being left with a “deep cut”.

Posting on her Instagram Stories, the singer addressed her fans and wrote: “My sweet petals. I wanted to let you know I will need to be in cozy footwear for this evening’s show (and possibly tomorrow’s) as I am bandaged up underneath, recovering from a minor injury.

“It is not a sprain or anything muscular but just a deep cut!”

She continued: “So when you see me tonight without my signature heels, or even possibly having a little trouble putting weight on that foot, that is why!

“But please do not fret. On with the show and I am on the mend!”

Concluding her post, Grande added: “I cannot wait to perform for you tonight and tomorrow (even if I am a few inches shorter than usual)… I love you always. Two more…”

The Eternal Sunshine tour began in June and included more than 30 shows in North America before the singer undertook a total of 10 performances at London’s O2 Arena.

After the tour ends, Grande plans to take a step back from the public eye after facing what her representative called “endless, ongoing public scrutiny”.

Earlier this month a statement from her team read: “She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.

“This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”

Speaking on stage at an earlier gig on the tour, Grande said her decision to take a break from public life came from “a thoughtful and empowered place” and was “not a reactive or impulsive thing”.

She has also dropped out of the upcoming London revival of the Stephen Sondheim musical Sunday In The Park With George, in which she was due to appear opposite Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.

Her role is due to be recast.

It follows Grande’s music video for Petal, the title single from her newly released eighth studio album, which sparked speculation about her health.

Grande has won three Grammy awards amid a successful music career which took off in 2013 after the release of her debut album, Yours Truly.

She first found fame playing Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television shows Victorious and Sam & Cat.

She was nominated for an Oscar for her role as Glinda in the big screen adaptation of Wicked.
