A double murder suspect has barricaded himself on a bus and is surrounded by police.
Detectives said the man on the bus is armed but there were no other passengers onboard the SEPTA bus.
SWAT teams have surrounded the suspect with their guns raised as they try to negotiate with the man.
The bus siege came after two women were found with fatal gunshot wounds inside a burning home in Philadelphia.
Firefighters rushed to a house fire in Williams Avenue in East Mount Airy at about 3.45am on Monday.
At the same time paramedics got calls about a possible shooting at the burning property.
First responders found two women inside the burning home after they had both been shot in the head, police said.
The two women were taken to a nearby hospital where they both died from their injuries, according to police.
Police said the bus siege may be connected to the man who barricaded himself inside a SEPTA bus in Philly’s Fox Chase section from around 5.45am.
