Arsenal have a decision to make over Gabriel Martinelli's future after Galatasaray submitted a £38million bid for the winger.

The Brazilian has one year left on his contract in north London, though Arsenal have the option to extend that by a further 12 months.

Martinelli is a player Arsenal would be open to selling for the right price this summer and that stance has now been tested.

Galatasaray have approached the Gunners with a formal bid and are keen to bring in Martinelli as a statement signing.

It is currently unclear whether the 25-year-old is open to making the move to Turkey.

Martinelli is not believed to be pushing to leave Arsenal and his preference would be to remain in one of Europe's top leagues.

However, Arsenal remain in the market for a new left winger and selling players is expected to become a greater focus in the final weeks of the window.

The Gunners hope to move on all of Gabriel Jesus, Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira.

Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to add another dimension to his attack, particularly on the left wing.

That pursuit would have to intensify if the club did sanction Martinelli's departure.

Christos Tzolis arrived from Club Brugge for £34m earlier in the summer and has impressed during pre-season, though that was as a replacement for Leandro Trossard, who left for Besiktas in a £15.3m deal.

There have always been plans for Tzolis to be brought in alongside a more marquee signing.

However, that has proved difficult. The club's pursuit of Vinicius Jr was unsuccessful, while Arsenal were unwilling to match Aston Villa's valuation of Morgan Rogers.

Martinelli has been at Arsenal for seven years but has not established himself as a first-choice winger.

He scored just one goal in the Premier League last season and Arsenal have made it clear they would listen to offers for him.
