Arsenal have been in the headlines recently, most notably being linked with an audacious move for Erling Haaland.

Despite a solid start to the season, it has been suggested that the Gunners still need reinforcements - particularly in attack - if they’re to retain their Premier League crown and go one step further in the Champions League.

As such attentions have already turned to the January transfer window.

The Gunners did recently confirm the signing of striker Vincent Joseph as part of a renewed focus on youth recruitment, but the likes of Eli Junior Kroupi, Kenan Yildiz, Rio Ngumoha and Maximilian Beier continue to be linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Porto right-back Alberto Costa, who has emerged as one of the more highly rated young defenders in Europe.

According to , the Premier League champions are monitoring the 22-year-old alongside Manchester United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, although no formal bids have been made.

Costa joined Porto from Juventus in 2025 and made 47 appearances with eight assists in his first season.

Porto have Costa under contract until 2030, with a €65m (£55.6m) release clause. The Portuguese club are therefore in a strong negotiating position should interest develop into a formal approach.

Man United could view Costa as competition at right-back, while Arsenal are attracted by his versatility and ability to contribute in possession. His strong start to the season has further increased attention around the defender.

Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in Stuttgart defender Finn Jeltsch.

Jeltsch, 20, is also said to be on the radar of Real Madrid, thus potentially sparking a bidding war in transfer windows to come.

Interestingly, have even reported that Stuttgart are now waiting for serious offers to land on their table - which they expect to happen soon.

The report also states Stuttgart have set an asking price for Jeltsch and believe he is worth €45million (£38.5m).

Erling Haaland does not intend to remain at Manchester City if the club are relegated from the Premier League, with Arsenal among the sides linked with a move.

According to , Arsenal have made contact with Haaland’s camp as they assess their striker options for 2027. However, reports elsewhere have claimed the Gunners have not made an approach.

City are said to have been found guilty of 114 financial-rule breaches, with the club expected to appeal once their punishment is confirmed. A severe points deduction or relegation has been discussed, although no final sanction has been announced.

Haaland is under contract until 2034 and has no relegation release clause, meaning any departure would still require a significant fee for City.
