Chelsea are sweating over Moises Caicedo’s fitness.
The Blues have won their opening two games, including a 4-3 victory over Brighton, but Caicedo was forced off just 14 minutes after returning from injury.
“Hopefully, it’s not new, and it wasn’t more than last time. He was cautious to stop, to say that his feeling was not the best. We need to assess during the week that it wasn’t something else,” Alonso said.
Jordan Henderson remains unavailable with a wrist injury, while Marco Palestra is also sidelined.
Reece James could start in midfield, with Romeo Lavia another option after scoring against Brighton. Emi Martinez is expected in goal, while Morgan Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro should lead the attack.
Mikel Arteta could make changes today, with Arsenal’s defence facing an attack that has started the season strongly.
Cristhian Mosquera's withdrawal against Aston Villa was precautionary, but Ezri Konsa is pushing for his full debut alongside Gabriel. Bruno Guimaraes is doubtful after a knock, although Arteta expects him to train. “He's been assessed, but probably tomorrow he will be ok to train,” he said.
Jurrien Timber is also nearing a return. “He's been training with us now, he's in a good place,” Arteta said, adding: “We will decide again tomorrow after training.”
Eberechi Eze impressed from the bench against Villa, while Viktor Gyokeres is unlikely to displace Kai Havertz. Bukayo Saka is targeting a third successive Premier League goal.
