A house and a tractor were damaged in two arson attacks in County Armagh on Tuesday evening.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire at a house on School Terrace in Newtownhamilton shortly before midnight.

At around midnight, a second report was received that a tractor had been set alight at another property on Tullyneil Road.

The attacks are believed to be linked, police have said.

Smoke damage was caused to the property on School Terrace, but "thankfully", there were no reports of any injuries, Sgt Wilson from the PSNI said.

"At this stage, it is believed that the fire was started deliberately," Wilson continued.

The occupants of the house on Tullyneil Road managed to extinguish the fire themselves, but the full cab of the tractor was burnt out as a result of the incident.

"A car was reported to have been seen leaving the area in the direction of Newtownhamilton," Wilson added.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
