Arsonist sets fire to own hand while torching cars on family’s driveway

An arsonist torched two cars parked on a driveway in the middle of the night, fleeing with his hand on fire, as a family with children slept inside the house in Slough.

Police identified Krzysztof Orzechowski, 32, of no fixed abode, as a suspect and attempted to stop a vehicle linked to him six days later.

Orzechowski pleaded guilty to one count each of arson with intent to endanger life and driving a motor vehicle dangerously at Reading Crown Court on 13 April. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing controlled drugs of class A and B, namely cocaine and cannabis/cannabis resin.

At the same court on Wednesday 19 August, Orzechowski was jailed for five years and seven months with an extended period of three years.
