At least 16 people have died and 28 more were injured after a bus crashed near an Egyptian holiday hotspot.
The fatal incident happened in the south Sinai region of Egypt this morning.
The bus smashed on the Dahab-Nuweibaa highway, around 50 miles north of the resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh.
Emergency services dispatched 20 ambulances to the scene, where the wounded were given first aid before being taken to the hospital.
The 16 victims were all pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for Egypt’s ministry of health said: ‘Upon receiving the report, the central operations room was activated, and 20 ambulances were dispatched to the scene of the accident to evacuate the injured and provide first aid.’

The nationalities of the victims have not yet been confirmed.
Foreign tourists flock to the North African region for snorkelling and diving, which stretches from the Red Sea’s Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba.
It comes after 15 people were killed and a further 32 were hurt in a crash in the Ismailia Governorate last month.
A pickup truck carrying workers rolled over and crashed in front of a power station in the Al-Dawawis area.
