Barcelona vs Real Madrid LIVE: Clasico result, latest updates and fan reaction
Barcelona vs Real Madrid LIVE
The first Clasico of the 2026/27 season has been and gone, with Real Madrid visiting Barcelona for an evening of La Liga action. Kylian Mbappe took centre stage with a clinical double, scoring on either side of half-time. The first goal he knew little about, as Gerard Martin canoned a clearance off his midriff at close range, but he was all too happy to take the credit as it rolled in. The second, which followed a deflected Raphinha equaliser, capped a tidy team move which began with the silky feet of Jude Bellingham and a committed run from Eduardo Camavinga.
There was already plenty on the line tonight, with Jose Mourinho’s Real falling off the pace in the early title race. With nine matches played, Los Blancos sat third but six points adrift of the runaway leaders Barcelona, a deficit they managed to halve tonight. Defeat, though, might have extended it to nine. The result came despite the suspension of Vinicius Junior, illness of Thibaut Courtois, and a host of other absentees.
Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana had made a riproaring start to the campaign, with their only defeat before this evening coming at the hands of European champions Paris Saint-Germain midweek. The spotless league record has now been blemished, too. Catch up with the match as it happened below with dedicated match blog, complete with expert insight and analysis.

Mbappe has scored, and he must have won it!
85mins: And that is Gordon’s last act. He and Raphinha are replaced by Jesus and Adeyemi.
84mins: Gordon is booked for clattering Guler, and he seems deeply unimpressed by the decision. Replays show he might have a case - he definitely appears to have won the ball.
84mins: Gabriel Jesus and Karim Adeyemi are both being readied to come on for Barcelona.
82mins: Huijsen is being made to leave the pitch to recover. The referee forces him off to the sidelines, but then lets him back on immediately thereafter. Good process, boys.
81mins: Yamal has a go from Gordon’s cutback, and it is another brave block from Huijsen! He catches that shot in the face and needs a moment to collect himself.
