Bayern 'work to remove Tottenham clause' in Harry Kane contract ahead of Ballon d'Or

Harry Kane could be set for a bumper week as the Ballon d'Or favourite closes in on a new contract with Bayern Munich.
Kane is in London on Monday as the favourite to win the sport's most prestigious prize, though faces stiff competition from Kylian Mbappe.
The England captain has been in talks with Bayern over a contract extension for some time, with his current deal set to expire at the end of this season.
“I’m extremely happy here. The talks are ongoing. I really appreciate the support the fans are showing me here,” Kane told beIN SPORTS in September.
Kane's former club Tottenham have a confirmed clause in the current contract which means they can match any bid made for the striker.
It remains to be seen if Tottenham are due any financial reward should Kane win the Ballon d'Or.
“It’s about the length of the contract, how many years, how to sort that clause Harry Kane had in his contract for a Premier League return, for Tottenham matching rights,” Romano recently said on his YouTube channel.
“I think it’s happening. It’s very close."
Bayern supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has also expressed confidence that a deal can be reached, praising Kane’s importance to the club.
“I’m optimistic that they will find a good solution,” he said.
Kane, Bayern and, potentially, Tottenham could all be celebrating this week.
