A 10-year-old boy has been critically injured in a crash in the Scottish Borders.
Four other people were also taken to hospital after the collision on the A701 south of Blyth Bridge at about 12:15 on Friday.
Three vehicles were involved - a white Seat Leon, a black Audi Q5 and a red Jaguar F Pace.
Police closed the road for investigation until 19:10 on Friday and urged anyone with information to contact them.
The boy, who was a passenger in the Seat, was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The drivers of the Seat and the Jaguar were hospitalised with serious injuries.
A teenage boy who was a passenger in the Seat Leon and a woman who was a passenger in the Audi Q5 were also taken to hospital for treatment.
The cars were travelling on the A701 between Broughton and Blyth Bridge at the time.
Sgt Grant Hastie said: "I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or saw the vehicles prior, and has yet to speak to officers to come forward with any information that could assist with our investigation.
"I'd also ask that those driving in the area at the time with dash cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything of significance."
