A teenage boy and a man have been stabbed after two masked men entered a house in Leicestershire.
Police were called to reports of a disturbance at a house in Station Road, Thurnby, shortly before 00:30 BST on Thursday.
They said the man in his 50s and the boy, 15, were both stabbed multiple times and remain in a critical condition in hospital.
Firearms officers were called to the house, but the offenders had left, the force said.

A woman in her 40s was also assaulted during the incident and sustained a minor injury to her hand and shoulder, officers said.
She has since been discharged from hospital after she received treatment to her injuries.
A scene remains in place at the house to allow for a full forensic examination to be carried out.
Det Insp Lorna Granville, from the East Midlands Special Operation Unit, said: "We appreciate that hearing about what has happened may be of concern certainly to those living locally.
"A dedicated team of detectives are working on this investigation and are actioning all viable lines of inquiry.
"Local officers across the neighbourhood will be providing reassurance patrols and they are approachable to discuss any concerns you may have.
"I would ask that anyone who may have any information about this incident and has not as yet spoken to police to please get in touch.
"We are specifically wanting to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area of Station Road and Somerby Road between 23:00 BST last night and the early hours of this morning.
"Also, anyone driving in the area around the same time and has captured dashcam footage, please come forward.
"You may have captured something which could assist our investigation."
