Boy, 4, dies after being hit by car while on off-road bike

A young boy has died from his injuries after being involved in a car and off-road bike collision.

Ambulances were called to Churchill Drive, Newark, Nottinghamshire, around 6pm yesterday after the two vehicles crashed.

He had been riding as a passenger on the bike along with a 24-year-old man, who suffered serious injuries.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Another 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the same offence, according to police.

Nottinghamshire Police Detective Inspector Jamie Moore said: ‘This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the boy’s loved ones at this incredibly distressing time.’
