Celebrity Traitors star Leigh-Anne Pinnock swapped her hooded cloak for couture as she made her London Fashion Week catwalk debut while pregnant, ending the show with a striking - and decidedly milky - nod to breastfeeding.

The former Little Mix star walked for Greek designer Dimitra Petsa’s DI Petsa show on Monday, September 21, embracing her growing bump in one of the designer’s signature body-conscious looks.

But it was the finale that caught the eye, with a milk-like liquid pouring from Pinnock’s outfit as she joined a group of models, including mothers and babies, on the catwalk.

In an exclusive interview with The London Standard after the show, Pinnock said: “When the milk came out, I was like, ‘Yes!’.

“I think the way that this show just celebrated motherhood and nurturement was just something so beautiful.

“And sometimes I feel like we shy away.

“When we’re pregnant, it’s not really something that’s celebrated in fashion.

“So to be able to be a part of a show as special as this is amazing. Incredible.”

The 34-year-old said she had always dreamed of walking in a fashion show and was particularly excited to make her debut while pregnant.

She also revealed that the experience had changed the way she wanted to dress during her pregnancy, admitting she had been more cautious when she was expecting her twin daughters.

Pinnock said:“When I had my girls, I feel like I didn’t really embrace my bump as much. I feel like I played it a lot more safe.

“And this time around I really wanna embrace my bump more and make it a part of my fashion, as if it’s a part of me, you know?”

The sentiment was at the heart of DI Petsa’s latest collection, which explored motherhood, the changing female body and the relationship between women and water.

Pinnock said she wanted to challenge the idea that pregnancy should be something women feel they need to hide.

She explained: “Sometimes I feel like society’s made us feel like we have to hide it away.”

“But actually it’s something that needs to be celebrated and should be celebrated.”

The London-based womenswear label was founded in 2019 by Greek designer Dimitra Petsa and is known for its distinctive ‘Wetlook’ designs, with sculptural dresses designed to create the illusion of fabric clinging to a wet body.

The brand has attracted a string of celebrity fans, including Bella Hadid, FKA Twigs, Lizzo, Doja Cat and SZA, while its maternity designs have previously been worn by stars including Gigi Hadid and Nicki Minaj.

For Leigh-Anne, the finale was made even more special by being surrounded by mothers and babies.

“I feel like shows like this will carry on that idea that you should be able to celebrate your body when you’re pregnant,” she said.

“Being able to walk down this catwalk with mums and other babies was just such a special moment.”

Her appearance comes just days before she returns to screens as one of the stars of Celebrity Traitors.

The reality series, the celebrity spin-off of the hit BBC show The Traitors, will see a group of famous faces head to the Scottish Highlands to compete in a game of deception, with some secretly chosen as Traitors while the rest play as Faithfuls.

Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One and iPlayer on October 1, with Claudia Winkleman back at the helm as the celebrities attempt to survive the Traitors’ deception and make it to the final prize.
