Charlie Kirk-style ‘prove me wrong’ tent torn down by ‘school kids’

A far-right figurehead had to be ‘escorted by police’ after ‘school kids’ tore down his anti-immigration group’s ‘prove me wrong’ gazebo.

Montgomery Toms, once called the ‘British Charlie Kirk’, said he was ‘mobbed’ during a public street debate event in Brighton on Saturday.

His Freedom Watch GB team were also ‘branded “Nazis”, “racists” and “fascists”, assaulted, spat on, and had our equipment stolen’.

Toms shared footage of the confrontation on X, showing the Freedom Watch GB gazebo collapsing on top of the crowd along Western Road.

Toms said that he decided ‘not to fight’ during the scuffle and instead practice ‘Stoicism’, an ancient philosophy that focuses on inner virtues.

‘There is nothing you can do in this situation with the manpower we had: one security guard who did an amazing job all day, two fellow debaters, and one cameraman versus hundreds of people,’ the representative of the far-right political party Restore Britain added.

‘A masculine man is one who has a sword but knows when to use it. I am, however, capturing each face and handing the footage to the police, along with looking into prosecution for criminal damage.’

‘Retaliation is getting another gazebo, more security, returning and pushing on.’

Anti-fascist news outlet UK 161 News shared footage of the tent falling on Facebook.

Resharing the video, Brighton & Hove Stands Up To Racism said: ‘Freedom Watch – right-wing grifters turned up today in Brighton and were shown the door!

‘Goodbye! Don’t come back.’

The anti-racist campaign group added on X: ‘Well done and many congratulations to the school kids of Brighton who, through mass direct action, shut down this far-right Restore Britain activist and grifter in Churchill Square today – you did us all proud!’

Freedom Watch GB is the ‘youth voice of Britain that is ‘on the front line of Britain’s fight for freedom’, according to its website.

The group holds pop-up debates in the style of Kirk’s ‘Prove Me Wrong’ tour.

Toms is often sat behind a desk covered with a banner printed with a provocative statement, such as ‘Britain needs mass deportation’ or ‘”hate speech” is free speech, prove me wrong’.

The tents have been met with protests organised by anti-racist groups, including at the University of Bristol and Cardiff University last week.

Kirk held twice-yearly ‘on-the-ground debates’ where he would sit on a folding chair and challenge students to ‘prove him wrong’ on hot-button issues like immigration, trans rights and abortion.
