Chelsea announce Cole Palmer has signed new contract

Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with Chelsea in a huge boost to the Blues.
understands Palmer has committed his future to Chelsea until 2034 and has been handed improved personal terms by the club.
Palmer, 24, was already on a contract that runs until 2033 but has now been rewarded with a new and improved deal.
Palmer has played in all seven games for Chelsea so far this season, scoring four goals.
He joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023 for a £42.5million and quickly became the club’s highest-profile and most established player.
Chelsea last season began a process whereby they would reward their highest-profile and best-performing players with improved contracts.
Palmer was called up to the England squad by Thomas Tuchel last month but dropped out ahead of the four Nations League games, with Tuchel’s honest assessment being that he “misses too many” England camps through injury.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso said on Friday that Palmer missing England duty was the right call and said his injury relates to a reoccurrence of the pubalgia he was struggling with last season.
Palmer has been able to rest and train over the international break and is expected to be available for Saturday’s home game against Bournemouth.
When his new contract was announced by Chelsea’s official channels on Saturday morning, Palmer said: “Chelsea means a lot to me and I think the club is going in the right direction, so I'm delighted to sign and I’m obviously very happy,” Palmer said.
“Speaking to the owners, to the sporting directors and obviously the manager, they gave me a lot of confidence so it was only right to sign.”
He added: “Speaking to players as well, everyone has the same ambitions. I feel like we win major trophies here consistently and I want to be a part of that and play a big role in it too.”
