Chelsea star set for spotlight as surprise documentary confirmed

Chelsea have announced a new documentary about Estevao Willian.
The Blues confirmed the feature film on their social media channels, posting a teaser on Wednesday afternoon.
The documentary will examine the youngster’s swift rise through the footballing ranks, charting his come-up through the youth system in Brazil before his big move to Chelsea.
The 19-year-old, who arrived in London last term from Palmeiras for a package deal potentially rising to £55million, has struggled for regular minutes under new manager Xabi Alonso, who took charge at Stamford Bridge earlier this summer.
The documentary could have the effect of dampening down rumours of Estevao being unhappy with his level of game time this term, with Pedro Neto preferred as a right wing-back option in Alonso’s 3-4-2-1, while Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers have established themselves as the Spaniard’s go-to front three.
The youngster has played just 23 minutes in the Premier League, not starting a single game, but he has started both League Cup fixtures so far, although he was taken off at half time against Leeds.
Now, however, Estevao will have a documentary aired on Chelsea’s official subscription platform CFC+, titled ‘I am Estevao’.
It understood that the Blues see the forward as very marketable internally, and his wonderkid status was cemented in his performances last term, competing for regular minutes under Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior before suffering a hamstring injury that curtailed his debut campaign in England.
He was recalled by Carlo Ancelotti for the recent international break having missed out on the World Cup thanks to his pre-existing injury.
Estevao played in all three of Brazil’s friendlies in that window, featuring twice against Australia and scoring and assisting in India in a 4-0 victory.
