A major theme park has been forced to close due to a water outage.
Chessington World of Adventures told guests planning to visit the park today that their tickets will be ‘revalidated’ for a future visit.
Thames Water reported a burst water main affecting the KT9 area.
Repairs are underway but the park will be closed for the rest of the day.
Chessington said in a statement: ‘Due to a water outage in the local area affecting our operations, Chessington is closed today.
‘All tickets booked for today will be automatically revalidated under our Return Promise and can be used on a future date.
‘We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.’
Chessington’s Return Promise allowed people to visit the theme park on a different day, in the event that the park has to close.
