A child was injured after being hit by a firework thrown near their pram in Glasgow.
Police said the firework had been launched in the direction of a woman and her children in the Linkwood Place area of Drumchapel, at about 18:35 on Saturday.
Det Con Ashley Convery said: "This was a completely reckless act that left the woman and her children understandably shaken.
"The child sustained minor injuries as a result of this incident, but it could've ended much worse."
"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed people in the area that evening in possession of fireworks to please come forward with information."
The officer urged anyone with relevant private CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.
Convery added: "This type of behaviour will not be tolerated, and additional officers will be out across the community ahead of Bonfire Night.
"Anyone who engages in this type of reckless behaviour will be identified and brought to justice."
On Saturday Police Scotland received 144 fireworks-related calls - down on 160 on 31 October last year.
Fireworks were thrown at people, buildings and vehicles in some parts of Scotland on Halloween.
Officers said in general there was "outstanding behaviour and co-operation" around the country but were working to identify to those responsible for disorder.
Firework Control Zones (FCZs) - where it is an offence to set off fireworks - are in place in 14 areas in Edinburgh and four in Glasgow until early November, and dispersal zones are in force in some places.
