The result of the Clacton by-election has been announced.
The poll was triggered by Nigel Farage when he sensationally quit as an MP last month in protest at media and parliamentary scrutiny of donations from his backers.
The Reform UK leader was being investigated by the parliamentary standards commissioner over a £5 million gift from cryptocurrency tycoon Christopher Harborne and was facing another probe over alleged undeclared donations linked to convicted fraudster George Cottrell.
Mr Farage wanted the by-election to be a “people versus the establishment” showdown - however, all the main political parties have boycotted the vote.
Mr Farage won the by-election with 22,239 votes (62.82%).
His closest rival was Count Binface, who won a staggering 9,455 votes (26.71%).
Turnout was 44.37%, just over 14% down from the 2024 general election.
