It is a very interesting lineup that Thomas Tuchel has named, including a third cap and first competitive start for Trevoh Chalobah, who left the lifelong club of his youth, Chelsea, to join Cesc Fabregas's Como this summer. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Lewis Hall and James Trafford are all making rare starts and must all take their chances, as I wrote earlier this morning. England in need of a response.

Elsewhere in the England team news, Jude Bellingham has been left out of the starting XI tonight, presumably to be rested.

Two Man City stars start in the wake of tonight’s bombshell news - Marc Guehi and Elliot Anderson.

Trevoh Chalobah also makes a rare start at centre-back, with Morgan Rogers featuring in the front four.

Trent Alexander-Arnold starts for England tonight for the first time since October 2024, when he scored in a 3-1 defeat of Finland.

His promotion to the starting XI comes at the expense of Jarrell Quansah, who is on the bench tonight.

As is tradition, the England lineup has been leaked ahead of kick-off.

Per the BBC’s Sami Mokbel, Trent Alexander-Arnold will get the nod at right-back, alongside Lewis Hall and Trevoh Chalobah. One would expect Marc Guehi to complete the back four.

Morgan Rogers is also expected to start.

One wonders whether any Man City players will feature for England tonight, given the massive distraction of the verdict being released.

Here is what Thomas Tuchel had to say about the case on Saturday...

Asked whether his side was distracted, he said: “Not for me, but I can imagine maybe for the Manchester City players. For me not and I will not comment on that because it is an ongoing court case so I will not give any comment.

“I didn’t make it a topic. It was not a topic for me. I hear the news as the latest person in camp.

“I was just thinking about Spain and training and meetings and individual meetings and team meetings. Not for me.

“For the players, they have more time than me. They have one training session, so I can imagine they talk about it. It is good that they do and I didn’t feel they were distracted.”

England had their moments against Spain, but were ultimately punished by their own mistakes and some quality finishing from the world champions.

Facing the Czech Republic is arguably the perfect game for Tuchel’s side as they look to swiftly bounce back and avoid falling further behind the top two in the group.

Injury issues have slightly impacted Tuchel's ability to rotate, particularly in defence and midfield, but they should have more than enough attacking talent to get the job done here.

England to win, 3-0.

Adam Karabec scored the Czech Republic’s equaliser against Croatia before later limping off and is therefore a major doubt to face England.

Newcastle's Lukas Hornicek is expected to get the nod in goal over Tottenham's Antonin Kinsky, former West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal is set to captain the side but Tomas Soucek is absent through injury.
