David Beckham and Prince Harry’s friendship deteriorated after the royal unexpectedly snubbed the footballer, a new book has claimed.

The pair were once close friends in the 2010s, partying in Mayfair private members’ clubs, attending the Olympics together and hanging out at the Invictus Games.

The Beckhams also attended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding at Windsor Castle in 2018.

However, in 2023, the relationship reportedly fell apart when Harry and Meghan raised concerns that the Beckhams were leaking information about them to the press.

David was reportedly left “absolutely furious” at the claims.

In Brand Beckham, author Allison Boshoff claims that the rupture that led to the eventual fallout came in 2018, when the Beckhams travelled to Australia to support Harry at the Invictus Games.

She alleges that David was “astonished” when Harry did not attend a scheduled meeting between the pair, and that they never ended up seeing each other during the trip.

However, she claims that their relationship is now back on “good enough” terms, citing an Inter Miami football match that Harry attended in 2024.

This comes as Harry and Meghan, along with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, have arrived back in the UK after six years in the US.

They are understood to have landed at Birmingham Airport on Wednesday, 26 August, shortly before midday.

A spokesperson for the couple said: “This is not something we would comment on.”

The family will reportedly be based at a private property in the Cotswolds, with Archie and Lilibet due to start at their new schools next week at the start of the autumn term.

A spokesperson said that whilst their chickens would be staying in California, their dogs Mia and Pula would be joining them in the UK.
