The long-running sci-fi series, which was first revived back in 2005, is now off our screens after the BBC pulled the plug on its 2026 Christmas special and Disney+ ended its deal with the broadcaster.

The show is currently out on competitive tender as per BBC protocol. The winner of that tender is set to be announced next March.
