Another day, another out-of-pocket Donald Trump comment.
This time, the president has clarified that he has never been ‘attracted’ to his sisters.
Delivering a speech in Daytona Beach on Friday, the 80-year-old mocked Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar over her alleged marriage fraud with her own brother.
‘I did not marry my sister!’ Trump told the rally.
‘I had two lovely, lovely (sisters). ‘I have one left, Elizabeth; she’s great. But I have never proposed to them.’
‘They’re beautiful, but I was never – I was never particularly attracted to either of them. It’s not my deal,’ he stated.

Reacting to the Republican leader’s jokes, social media users – understandably – wanted to know ‘What is wrong with him?’ while others, disturbed, responded with clips of Trump saying in 2006, ‘If Ivanka weren’t
my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.’
@RichardHanania on X said Trump is ‘genuinely losing it’, and @CaitlinKellyNYC said that ‘voting for this is insanity’.
@irespectonline said: ‘what is he rambling about – why do they let him speak’.
‘Disgusting and repulsive talk’, tweeted @alialqaisa68.
Trump’s eldest sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, was an attorney and United States federal judge. She died in November 2023, aged 86, from cancer.
The president’s second sister, Elizabeth Trump Grau, is 84 and worked as an administrative assistant before retiring to live in Florida.

Elizabeth is now Trump’s only living sibling, as his older brother, pilot Fred Trump Jr., died in 1981, aged 42, and business executive Robert Trump died in 2020.
Trump’s remarks follow years of claims that Omar, a progressive Democrat, 44, married her brother to commit immigration fraud.
Currently married to Tim Mynett, Omar, a Somali immigrant, was first investigated under Barack Obama’s presidency after some evidence was found to suggest a sham marriage with someone who appeared to be her sibling.
Omar has long denied that the man, named Ahmed Elmi, who was her husband from 2009 to 2017, is her brother or that they wed so he could obtain a green card.
However, Trump revived the speculation, which she has called a right-wing conspiracy theory that was proven false by officials during her first election race in 2016, and the Department of Justice opened a probe.

Earlier this month, federal agents executed a search warrant at her Washington, D.C., home.
At the rally, Trump sarcastically quipped that Omar is ‘one of [his] favourite congresspeople’ and someone he has ‘great respect for’.
Not his only attempt at twisted comedy ahead of the midterm elections on November 3, of course, as he also lashed out at a Reuters reporter yesterday for questioning whether he is ‘sick of travelling’.
‘Oh, you’re sick to ask that question,’ Trump told journalist Jacob Bogage. ‘You are sick. Who are you with?’
After branding Reuters ‘terrible’, Trump was told by Bogage, ‘Well, we just want to make sure you’re doing well,’ which wasn’t received warmly.
‘Can you imagine — look at this dope, look at this guy; he’s way out of shape,’ the sweaty POTUS ridiculed.
