Although some areas will miss the heaviest downpours, up to 4cm (1.5in) of rain could fall elsewhere.

However, the worst conditions are expected to become more isolated later in the evening, it added.

"Some flooding of a few homes and businesses [is] possible, leading to some damage to buildings or structures," it added.
