A former South Wales Police officer has denied raping and strangling a woman in Swansea while on duty.

Rikki Hall appeared at Bristol Crown Court to enter pleas on four charges that are linked to his time as a police constable.

The 33-year-old, of Tennyson Way, Swansea, pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape as well as a charge of intentional strangulation of a woman, all relating to an alleged incident in February 2024.

He also pleaded not guilty to misconduct in public office by "engaging in sexual activity with a member of the public who you had met while carrying out welfare and safeguarding checks".

The charges follow an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The police watchdog said Hall had resigned from the force during their investigation.

A trial at Bristol Crown Court is due to take place on 28 February 2028 and is listed for 10 days.

Hall was released on conditional bail.
