Hibernian have banned their Block Seven supporter group from their next three matches after pictures showed some visiting fans clashing with police and stewards at Saturday's Scottish Premiership game away to Dundee United.

The club statement comes on the day when police also revealed that 10 more people had been charged in connection with disorder following Hibs' match away to St Johnstone last month.

Hibs said on Monday that they would "take appropriate action as necessary" after they "establish the full circumstances" surrounding the latest scenes that unfolded in the away end at Tannadice as their side suffered defeat in head coach Marink Reedijk's first match in charge.

"Following initial investigations, Hibernian Football Club can confirm that the Block Seven supporter group has been banned from our next three fixtures - against Falkirk and Celtic at Easter Road and away to St Mirren," their latest statement reads.

"The club has discussed this sanction with the SPFL [Scottish Professional Football League]. This three-match sanction follows a one-match ban issued as a result of an incident occurring earlier this season.

"The club's investigation into the events at Tannadice is ongoing and we will continue to work with supporters, Police Scotland and Dundee United FC.

"Further action, including additional sanctions on an individual and/or collective basis, will be considered once that process is complete.

"The safety and well-being of every supporter who attends our matches is a top priority for the football club. No-one should feel unsafe or uncomfortable when supporting Hibernian and behaviour that puts others at risk is unacceptable.

"We thank our supporters for their continued backing and want to reassure them that the club will continue to address unacceptable conduct so as to not undermine the experience of the wider Hibs support."
