A hiker was rescued from one of the Peak District's most popular spots after scalding himself with hot water.

Kinder Mountain Rescue Team said the walker was part of a group on Kinder Scout that had stopped for some food at about 14:40 BST on Saturday, when "he managed to [accidentally] spill hot water which went inside his boot and scalded his foot".

As his foot became blistered and painful it was "too difficult for him to walk", so volunteers made their way to Pym Chair, where the injured party was given pain relief and had his injury treated.

The rescue team said they gave him "a bit of support" and helped him to walk back to their vehicles at Edale Cross, where he was driven onto his friends' cars and taken to hospital.
