Nations League action continues this evening, with Greece hosting Xavi’s injury-hit Netherlands in Thessaloniki.

Jan Paul van Hecke is the latest casualty after he withdrew from the squad on Wednesday with a foot injury. The Tottenham centre-back appeared in open training in the morning but lasted just seven minutes before dropping out and taking a seat on the bench, and his return to London was confirmed shortly thereafter.

He follows Cody Gakpo in calling international duty quits early. He picked up an ankle injury after being tackled by Ipswich’s Sasa Lukic during a Nations League clash with Serbia earlier this week.

Greece, meanwhile, have been the surprise package of this international break. They stunned Jurgen Klopp’s Germany in Augusburg last time out, winning 1-0 thanks to Dimitrios Kourbelis’ second-half decider, after having dispatched Serbia beforehand.

Greece vs Netherlands is today, Thursday, October 1, 2026, with kick-off at 7.45pm BST.

The game will take place at the Stadio Toumbas, in Thessaloniki.

UK viewers can watch the game on Prime Video UK, the UK broadcaster for Nations League matches that do not involve England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Each game costs £2.49, and coverage begins around 10 minutes before kick-off. You can watch Greece vs Netherlands here.
