Italy have a point to prove as a new era begins with a Nations League showdown against Belgium.

Failure to qualify for this summer's World Cup has prompted change for Italy, with Roberto Mancini returning as head coach, three years on from stepping down.

The former Manchester City and Inter Milan boss replaces Gennaro Gattuso after leaving Qatar Stars League side Al-Sadd by mutual consent in June.

Mancini's first game of his second spell is against a Belgium side that has also made a change after reaching the World Cup quarter-finals where they were beaten by eventual winners Spain.

Mark van Bommel has succeeded Rudi Garcia as head coach and will be hopeful of getting off to a winning start.

Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia is on course to win just his second Belgium cap, while the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Youri Tielemans, Leandro Trossard and Romelu Lukaku have been named in the squad for the autumn international break.
