Liverpool face Brighton in the standout Premier League fixture of the day as goals are, effectively, guaranteed.

Prior to this weekend’s fixtures, no team had scored more goals in the Premier League than Brighton (23) this season having netted at least three goals in games against Aston Villa, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Furthermore, Fabian Hurzeler’s side have already won 5-0 twice in the league, most recently seven days ago when they put bitter rivals Crystal Palace to the sword at the Amex Stadium.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have managed to keep just one clean sheet at Anfield across all competitions so far this season, conceding three goals in each of their last two home matches.

In 46 meetings between the two clubs, only once has a goalless draw been produced and that was way back in 1961.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning in Merseyside for Saturday and Sunday as gusts of 70 to 80mph are likely, meaning there were concerns that this fixture could be postponed.

As things currently stand, the game will go ahead as planned and if recent results are anything to go by, fans and supporters alike are in for a treat.
