Father and daughter John and Amy Hunt are setting out on a 120-mile charity walk to help find "a semblance of meaning" in their world after the murders of John's wife Carol and daughters, Louise and Hannah.

BBC racing commentator John, said the walk will begin at home on Saturday and end about a week later in Bournemouth - a place "cherished" by the family.

Kyle Clifford, Louise's former partner, murdered the women at the family home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, in July 2024.

Amy said after the deaths, there was "a darkness in our lives that belonged to the perpetrator" and added the walk was part of their determination to "show the world how wonderful mum and Hannah and Louise are and were".

The walk will raise money for the Hunt Family Fund which Amy said she hoped would "do some really good work in our community".

The pair will be joined on the challenge by Amy's fiancé Gareth, and other members of their family.

John said: "We are simply not the same anymore but [Bournemouth] it's still a place where we can be really reflective and feel really close to the girls."

Amy added: "Anyone who's known great loss or experienced immense trauma as we have will know that is a daily battle and a daily struggle.

"You have to find a semblance of meaning in a world that suddenly feels completely meaningless and this is a way for us to do that and to challenge ourselves."

John said after the loss of Carol, Hannah and Louise "we literally could not move" and that he couldn't get out of bed.

He said: "There were various points along the way that made us realise that we have to start moving.

"All three of the girls loved to be active, they were physically fit, they loved time in the gym and when Amy and I first went back to the gym together that was such a difficult day but such a profound day in many ways."

Amy said Gareth had been "incredibly supportive" and that planning the walk together with her father had given them all "purpose".

She said: "Dad's support has always been absolutely invaluable to me.

"I don't know where I'd be without it, he's the strongest and most inspirational person I know.

"The way he's dealt with what's happened to our family has given me such a blueprint for how to deal with it."

She said they will continue to support each other for the rest of their lives, adding: "I know that it would give mum, Hannah and Louise some comfort to know that we're still doing that for each other.

"We were tight as tight could be as a family."
