Police are hunting an axe-wielding attacker who left a man with life-changing injuries.

Met detectives are investigating after incident which occurred at around 10.20pm on Tuesday, August 4, near Clitheroe’s Lock on the Brentford stretch of the Grand Union Canal in west London.

Emergency services were called to Transport Avenue following reports that a man had been assaulted with an axe, and found a man in his 40s with serious wounds.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as life‑changing.

The attack took place close to Lock 99, between Transport Avenue and Boston Manor Park.

No arrests have yet been made, and police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information that could help identify the attacker.

A Met Police spokesperson told the Daily Mail: “No arrests have been made at this stage, however this continues to be treated as an attempted murder investigation with arrest enquiries ongoing.

“The victim has life-changing injuries.”
