Most of Wales seemed to stop on Wednesday evening, to take in the biggest partial solar eclipse in nearly three decades.

People gathered to enjoy the spectacular sight with more than 90% of the Sun's disk covered in some locations.

It came as Wales provisionally recorded its hottest August day on record with 35.3°C (96F) in Gogerddan, Aberystwyth, according to the Met Office.

A solar eclipse happens when the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, blocking the Sun's light either partially or fully when viewed from Earth.

And BBC Weather Watchers were out and about to capture the moment on camera.
