There are a rising number of campervans being parked in "inappropriate" locations across Gwynedd, a councillor says.
Cae Larsen has called for the local authority Cyngor Gwynedd to take action to bring the situation "under better control", amid a reported increase in the number of motorhomes and campervans staying in lay-bys, car parks, and scenic areas.
Larsen acknowledged the contribution made by campers to the county's tourist economy, however, adding that responsible van owners were welcome.
Cyngor Gwynedd has four specific sites in which motorhomes can be parked up overnight, called Arosfan sites, at a cost of £16.50 per night.
Problems have been reported at Llyn Padarn in Llanberis, where an eight-space Arosfan site has been outnumbered by campervans parked in adjacent bays.
Larsen is set to call on Cyngor Gwynedd to consider what action can be taken at the next full council meeting on 24 September.
In a written report to councillors, he said he was concerned about vehicles staying "for extended periods in places not intended for that purpose".
He said such vehicles occupied parking spaces, "causing problems for residents and other users, and putting pressure on some of the county's most sensitive and popular areas".
He said he welcomed the dedicated Arosfan sites for motorhomes but "issues of inappropriate parking and overnight stays persist in several locations".
Larsen called on the authority "to consider what action can be taken to bring the situation under better control".
'Park responsibly'
Other areas where issues have been reported include a coastal stretch north of Dinas Dinlle and at Llyn Tegid, also known as Bala Lake.
Complaints have also been made regarding the Beach Road East car park in Hirael Bay, Bangor, where the entrance was widened and a height restriction barrier removed during work.
Local residents complained that large campervans had been taking up the popular seafront parking area over the summer.
The issue prompted the council to urge people to "park responsibly," and give reassurances that the height barrier will be returned once work on the site is finished.
