Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho has been offered an escape from his free agency nightmare by Getafe.

Sancho is currently without a club after his United contract was allowed to expire last summer, calling time on an ill-fated five-year association with the club.

The winger, who holds 23 England caps, signed from Borussia Dortmund to much fanfare in 2021 but never quite hit the heights expected of him before acrimoniously falling out of favour with multiple managers.

He rejoined Dortmund on a short-term loan in 2024 before joining Chelsea on loan the following season, but the Blues opted to pay a £5m penalty fee to get out of their obligation to buy him.

After a third underwhelming loan spell at Aston Villa last season, Sancho’s United contract expired and he headed into this campaign without a home.

Dortmund had reportedly held an interest in taking him on for a third stint, though nothing materialised.

But, per reports from The Times, there is light at the end of the tunnel after Getafe of La Liga offered Sancho a contract.

The terms of the offer are not yet clear, but it is said that Getafe boss Jose Bordalas holds the player in high esteem and believes he can help inspire an upturn in the club’s form.

Sancho is now considering the offer.

Bordalas’ squad is currently without an out-and-out right winger, with right-backs and strikers both employed there in recent weeks.

It has been a tricky start to the campaign for Getafe, who sit 14th in La Liga with eight points from their opening eight matches.

They are also involved in European football this season, and will face Romania’s Universitatea Craiova in their Conference League opener this week.
