Joe Hart has said he has no reason to not trust Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak over reports that the club have been found guilty of almost all of their 115 Premier League charges.

It was reported by the Athletic last week that Man City - who strongly deny any wrongdoing and are expected to appeal - had been found guilty by an independent commission on all but one of those charges relating to alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules between 2009 and 2018.

Al Mubarak has since addressed City fans directly in an open letter, insisting that “nothing has changed” despite “people being quick to reach their own conclusions” and that “our confidence and intent in proving the club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began”.

Hart, who was already at Man City prior to Al Mubarak’s arrival prior to leaving permanently in 2018, has revealed he believes that his former club are innocent.

"I've heard everyone else go down every single rabbit hole, every single wormhole, every single discussion," Hart said on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club.

"My honest opinion is I've got no reason not to trust Khaldoon. What he said is enough for me.

"I loved how he spoke. I loved the letter because that was from someone who cared about the club

"If Man City are found guilty, which I don't think they are because of what Khaldoon said, then there's conversations to be had.”

It is understood that sanctions on Man City have yet to be decided, with the possible range of punishments including a potential fine, points deduction, transfer ban, stripping of titles or even expulsion from the Premier League.

During the aforementioned period, Hart twice won the Premier League (2011-12 and 2013-14), League Cup (2013-14 and 2015-16) as well as the FA Cup (2010-11) with Man City.

Though, the former goalkeeper insists and none of those achievements can be tarnished.

Hart added: "But right now I'm very confident and very, very calm. I'm very proud of what I've achieved and what I did with Manchester City and what we achieved as a team. And that doesn't change. That doesn't change until you tell me.

"I did what I did. I lined up 11 v 11 and had it out on the pitch. I won some games, lost some games, drew some games, and I shook hands and I walked off.

"I know what I did, I know what we did, and I know how it happened. It didn't feel like we were scheming or plotting."
