The 43-year-old Canadian was speaking at the London premiere of the second series of the Hayu reality TV series, which follows the personal and professional lives of six wealthy women living in London.

She told the Press Association: “I think that a lover of The Real Housewives Of London really feels attached to the ladies, they form almost a trauma bond.

“So what I’m most looking forward to from series two is a catch up, where have I been since I last left these ladies? Where have they been? Who’s friends? Who’s not friends? What’s happening on the yachts? What’s going on with the cat fights?

“I just need the soothing comfort of being enmeshed in the group again.”

The show is the third series in a franchise of UK The Real Housewives shows, which began with The Real Housewives of Cheshire and The Real Housewives of Jersey, and follows Juliet Angus, Amanda Cronin, Karen Loderick-Peace, Juliet Mayhew, Panthea Parker and Nessie Welschinger.

Ryan added: “It turns out that there is a big audience who want to see older women on television, and by older, I mean over the age of 25…

“It is really a feminist dynasty, the Housewives franchise, because it is really passing the Bechdel test, it’s loads of very wealthy, very high status, very opinionated women over 40, and navigating those female friendships.

“It turns out loads and loads of people want to watch that. It’s an opera.”

The second season of The Real Housewives Of London launches on Monday, September 7 on Hayu.
