Drivers faced severe delays on the M11 in London after a crash this evening.

A stretch of the motorway was closed northbound between junction J5 Loughton and J6 Epping.

Traffic was held shortly after 8pm following the crash, which forced all northbound lanes to shut.

The carriageway has since reopened and there are no delays currently.

The emergency services are working at the scene.

Traffic is stretching back for three miles, causing around an hour-long delay for drivers heading north.

National Highways said previously: ‘The road is now closed following a collision.

‘All emergency services are on scene.

‘There are 60 minute delays and 3 miles of congestion on the approach.’
