Gary Neville believes Chelsea star Cole Palmer “lost his head” against Tottenham after being sent off in a fierce London derby.
Palmer was shown two yellow cards during the latter stages of the second half, the first for an off-the-ball shove on Mateus Fernandes and then a late challenge on Sandro Tonali
Neville said at the time of the Fernandes push that Palmer was “lucky” not to be shown a straight red card.
Minutes later, after Tottenham had scored to take the lead through a Mike Penders own goal, a frustrated Palmer lashed out at Tonali.
“Cole Palmer's lost his head in these last few minutes,” Neville said as Palmer pleaded innocence.
“He was lucky to avoid a red card earlier, and that one is a no-brainer.
“To do that five minutes after the challenge on Fernandes is just silly.
“He sticks his studs in, he knows exactly what he is doing.
“Naughty, really naughty.”
