Motorists are facing delays after a multi-vehicle crash on the M1 in Leicestershire.
National Highways said the road was closed northbound between junction 21A at Leicester and junction 22 at Coalville following the crash, shortly before 14:00 BST on Monday.
Police and The Air Ambulance Service are both at the scene of the collision, they said.
The southbound carriage was also closed, but reopened shortly after 14:30.
Leicestershire Police said the northbound carriageway has partially reopened, but warned motorists to "expect long delays whilst traffic filters through".
