The grieving family of a 28-year-old man stabbed to death in London have said it is ‘impossible’ to put their loss into words.
Reece Salmon suffered fatal stab wounds after being attacked in Lloyd Baker Street, Clerkenwell, shortly before 11.20pm on Wednesday.
He was rushed to hospital by ambulance but sadly died the next day.
In a heartfelt tribute, Reece’s family said: ‘We are utterly devastated by this loss.
‘Reece was a loving partner and son, and he leaves behind many friends and loved ones.
‘It is impossible to put our loss into words.’
A murder investigation has since been launched, and the Met said officers are making ‘urgent inquiries’ to catch those responsible.
There have been no arrests as of today.
It also enforced a Section 60 order, giving officers enhanced powers to stop and search people and vehicles in the area, from Friday until 6am this morning.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, who leads policing in the local area, said: ‘Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the young man who has lost his life.
‘You can expect to see additional officers in the area providing visible reassurance and working with partners to keep the public safe.
‘The victim was found in a residential street, and members of the public may have information of vital importance to our investigation. If you can help, please come forward.’
