A man has been charged after two women were sexually assaulted on the London Underground earlier this month.

The charges relate to to incidents that took place on Northern line trains on August 1 and August 3.

The first attacked happened around 8.40pm on Saturday, August 1, when a man sexually assaulted a woman on board a Northern line train at Waterloo Underground station.

When she turned around, the man had exposed himself. He then left the service and boarded a northbound Northern line train.

The same man then sexually assaulted another woman two days later, at around 8pm on August 3, again on board a Northern Line train, near Euston.

Constantine Fernando, 85, of Deans Gate Close, London, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on August 22 charged with two counts of Sexual Assault and two counts of Exposure.

He remains on conditional bail with stringent conditions until his next appearance at Inner London Crown Court on September 22.
