A man has appeared in court after an electric motorbike collided with a police officer who was on the beat to tackle anti-social behaviour involving the vehicles.
Jake Fernandes, 25, had his electric bike, bags of cannabis and £700 in cash seized following the incident, with the injuries suffered by the officer not serious according to South Wales Police.
The collision happened on Amroth Road in the Caerau area of Cardiff at about 20:30 BST on Tuesday.
Fernandes appeared at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Thursday accused of driving a Sur-Ron "e-bike" dangerously, driving without insurance or a licence, and two drug offences.
He was remanded back into custody ahead of his next court appearance.
The drug charges against Fernandes were for possession with intent to supply cannabis and cultivation of cannabis.
Police said the officer involved in the collision had been "conducting patrols as part of a plain-clothes operation in response to community concerns about the illegal and anti-social use of high-powered electric bikes".
