A man has been charged in connection with the death of a man who was killed in a suspected shooting in West Lothian.

Billy Watson, 35, was found with injuries after police were called to a property on Harestanes Road in Armadale at about 11:50 on Saturday but died at the scene.

His death is being treated as murder following a post-mortem examination.

A 57-year-old man is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday and police said inquiries were ongoing.

Police previously said they were also investigating whether a nearby car fire in Netherhouses and a fire at a derelict house on Wotherspoon Crescent on Saturday were linked to the incident.

Uniformed officers were seen in the Netherhouses area where the car was set ablaze. A cordon was also put in place on Wotherspoon Crescent.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said nobody was injured in the fires.
