Man charged over south-east London shooting that left victim fighting for life

Police have charged a man with attempted murder following a “senseless” shooting in south-east London that has left a man clinging to life.
Detectives investigating the case have confirmed, following an arrest on Thursday, they have charged a 48-year-old man following the shooting in Woolwich.
As well as attempted murder, the individual from Greenwich has also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, police said.
A manhunt was launched last month after officers were called on Thursday, October 22, to reports of gunshots in Frances Street, Woolwich, shortly after 8pm.
Officers found the 32-year-old victim in a parked car suffering from a gunshot wound. They performed first aid until ambulances including London’s Air Ambulance arrived.
The victim was rushed to a hospital in east London with life-threatening injuries.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Sunday that the victim remains in a critical condition from his injuries.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Met said: “Detectives investigating a shooting in Woolwich have charged a man with attempted murder.
“Paul Rosser-Davies, 48, of Brewhouse Road, Greenwich was charged on Sunday, November 1, with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
“He will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday November 2.”
Following last week’s arrest, police had urged the public to come forward with information regarding the shooting.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, who is leading the investigation, said previously that, even after the arrest, the investigation remained “ongoing into this senseless act of violence that has left a man fighting for his life”.
“I would urge anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward. Any information provided will be treated in confidence,” he said at the time.
